VINTAGE GROUP HARMONY SHOW - Now in it's 23rd year!!  Tony Fournier:  When the disk jockey, Alan Freed, came to WINS in New York City in 1954, I took an immediate interest in vocal group music. He would play the Moonglows, Five Keys, Flamingos, etc. The first record that I bought was "Earth Angel" by the Penguins on a 78-rpm in 1954. I was 12 years old at the time. I continued to collect records that I heard on Freed's radio show until I went to college in 1959. Several years later I discovered that there were also excellent vocal groups in the 1930's, 1940's and early 1950's, such as the Ink Spots, Four Knights, Deep River Boys, etc. So I began to collect these earlier records. And those are the years that are featured on the unique "Vintage Group Harmony Show," which began on YUSA in September 1991. My "Vocal Group Harmony Web Site" (vocalgroupharmony.com) was started in May 1997 and covers the same genre of music.
