Really enjoyed very much what
you have on this site. I would
be very interested in any
news broadcast programs from
1941 through 1946. Would you
have any of these airing at
any particular time, or perhaps
know another site that may
have these programs? Please
advise.
Thank you.

I was 11 when I began my career
in radio in 1950. It's become
tougher-and-tougher to recall
the misspent days of my youth,
especially now that the local
station has dropped it's "The
Music of Your Life" format
in favor of (gAAGH!) yet another
"classic rock" presentation.
Hope YUSA hits my memory buttons.

I am just old enough (40)

to them takes me to times
and places I've never been.
I am a real otr fan, but it
is hard to hear otr shows
such as When radio was since
no local station broadcasts
it and some of the clear channel
stations I can hear tend to
fade in and out at night.
I first heard your station
on my brother's C-band satellite

thought at that time that

of it. I thank you for your

As a kid growing up in the
40's and early 50's, I really
enjoy listening to OTR on
YUSA. I especially remember
sitting on the floor in front
of the big old Philco and
listening to Jack Benny on
Sunday nights. It was very
upsetting when CBS made the
"big raid" on NBC in 1948
as the local CBS station did
not have the power of the
NBC station and was hard to
get. I got the radio bug so
bad that I went into the business
when I got out of the service.
I was running the board at
WINF in Manchester, Ct. (Hartrford)
on the Sunday night that CBS
broadcast Yours Truly, Johnny
Dollar and Gunsmoke for the
last time. Being young and
not too bright, I never thought
to run the tape machine. I
will be sending in a check
to be a member of YUSA.

Listening brings back very
fond memories of sitting on
the floor and listening to
the radio and having my grandmother
and my parents explain some
of what I did not understand.
When TV came around and the
radio shows went silent, it
left a big void. Todays kids
don't seem to be able to close
thier eyes and see the Green
Hornet with kato racing down
the street. Please keep up
the great job. I will mail

Hello Bill,
I am a faithful listener of
Yesterday USA and I tape your
programs off my Satellite
C Band G1-24. I was interested
in your comments about sponsoring
a show where that a person
can become the announcer for
the time it is aired. I was
very surprised to hear one
of your members who was from
Timmins Ontario who was sponsoring
a show that night. In the
very near future I fully intend
to join up and become a member
myself. I just love it and
it has taken me back to my
childhood many times. What
could be more enjoyable than
to sit in your favourite chair,
turn off the lights and drift
back in time and let your
mind wander. I form pictures
in my mind of what everything
and everybody would look like.
I guess it's what you would
call watching Old Time Radio.
Best Regards,

In Boonville In. ther is a

using consoles (tube type)
from the 1950s. The entire
operation including the transmitters
is from that era. The station,
WBNL, is owned by Norm Hall
(1-812-897-2080 is the station

still operates the station--he
is linited to 2 or so days

for several stations being
built. He is now trying to
sell the properties. He is
a real radio talent and the
last one I know in the 150

therefore, heard much. However,
I'm delighted that the station
exists. Classic Radio needs
to be heard.
We didn't have adventure serials

"classic" dramas (Dickins
etc) and comedy shows (Take
it from here, Clitheroe Kid,

We love listening to the old
radio shows. My mother remembers
the shows, but for my children
and myself it is a new adventure.
Keep up the good work. Thanks

Thank you for this site! I
found it through Yahoo! I
have a collection of about
300 OTR shows on tape and
the collection is growing
all the time. Old Time Radio
is great! (And I say that
as one who is working in a
modern station (WCVL-WIMC,
Crawfordsville, Indiana)!

Greetings, Bill!
I was steered to your site
by a friend of mine, who's
also a contributor or yours,
John Mathews of Troy, MI.
It was also through John that
I was introduced to OTR; he's
got quite a collection of
shows taped from C-band.
As for your Website, nice
job. Well organized, easy
to get around, very professional
looking, IMO. Congrats to
Ken.

I hope all is well with you,

same thing. He battled cancer
again and has agaig kicked

Haven't any comments as yet,my
first time at your site, havent
seen anything yet. But, my
brother who comes here often,
tells me it is a good place
to get educated on PC subjects.
Of which I need a great deal!
It is all so confusing. What
I'm looking for is instructions
that are in UNDERSTANDABLE,
PLAIN OLD, AMERICAN ENGLISH!
Most times the answer is right
in front of your eyes, if
you know all the darn abbreviatios,
extentions,etc...etc...
By the time you are done looking
up all the nomancultures etc..Your
more confused (and tired)
then B4 you started looking!
That takes a gerat deal of
the fun out of it! I'm not
looking for a quick-fix just
someplace that doesn't assume
I know everything already
about computers, software,
hardware,the net, downloanding,
uploading, and everthing else!
If I did I wouldn't need to
go anywhere, would I? Maybe
I'll find it here?
Thanks (I Think?) Rick Moretti

Surfed in just a few minutes
ago. Been listening to OTR
on WVXU (Cinti, OH @ Xavier
Univ.) for many years but
am on the fringe of that radio
ghetto broadcast and sometimes
can't get the mid-day shows.
So far you can count on my
financial support. I want
to hear a little more first,
though. If you have more radio
comedies and dramas than scratchy
banjo music, you'll have my
financial support.
